Writing Retreat

I spent the past weekend at a writing retreat outside of Chicago sponsored by my literary agency. It was a chance to connect in person to other writers, learn about a couple of publishers and some marketing strategies, and most of all, write!

It was fabulous. I loved meeting Cathie and Jim and Caitlin and Sharon and Maren (and Josie). We had a great time talking and laughing and getting to know each other. We all write different genres, but we all have writing in common. There were a lot of laughs, good food, and of course, chocolate.

It's been a while since I attended any in-person writing events, and the energy I felt being there was phenomenal. We fed off each other, or at least I did. People inspired me—their writing, their lives, their funny stories. They made my world bigger and smaller in wonderful ways, and I can’t wait to do it again!
